Today is Christmas Day. Happy Christmas everyone!
This is a photo of ivy growing on a tree. Ivy really makes me think of Christmas. I hope that you have a wonderful day and that you have enjoyed Nature's Advent Calendar.

December 24th
Today is 24th December. Tonight it is Christmas Eve!
This is Toby. He appreciates the little things in life like rolling in something smelly. I am learning to do this too. Going out for a walk helps me to notice the beautiful things that surround us. In our busy lives it can be easy to forget how wonderful life is!

December 23rd
I love the bright colours in this photos. The light reminds me of fairy lights, Christmas lights and disco lights. We appreciate these things in winter as they brighten up our dark days. Today is the 23rd of December.
December 22nd
December 22nd is my birthday. Here we have some more beautiful berries. Sometimes you have to look more closely in winter but when you look carefully you realise that we are surrounded by Nature's beauty.
December 21st
This reminds me of a Christmas Star. There are so many beautiful shapes in Nature. It looks gold and impressive. Today is 21st December. My mother was born on 21st December so it is a special day for me and tonight is the longest night. Soon the days will start to get longer and the nights will get shorter.
December 20th
Today is 20th December. I love the angular shapes in this photo. There are a lot of thorny twigs. It is incredible to think that in Spring these branches will have fresh, green leaves sprouting on them. Each season has its own beauty.
December 19th
This is a very wintery photo. I love the teasels and the dark leafless twigs in the background.
This park looks completely different in the Summer and Spring. Today is 19th day of December. After a walk in the cold it is lovely to come back inside into the cosy warmth of home.

December 18th
I love this photo. There are a few apples left on the tree. Today is December 18th. This photo makes me think of the harvest and how we gather and store fruit that is eaten during the winter months. I love making Christmas cake and pudding which is full of a variety of dried fruit. Candied fruit is also associated with Christmas.
December 17th
Today is 17th December. This picture was taken on a walk by the lovely lake. All kinds of rare birds make there homes here. The grasses are moving in the wind. last year I woke up on Christmas morning and I could hear the birds outside. It is great listening to them and to the wind blowing outside.
December 16th
Today is 16th December. These grasses are growing by the lake close to where I live. They remind me of some rushes I saw when on a Christmas walk with my kids about 10 years ago. I love going for a walk on Christmas day either just before lunch or afterwards.
December 15th
I love walking when the storm clouds are gathering. The pink in this sky reminds me of the pink of a sugar mouse. Today is the 15th day of December. We are getting closer.
To me, Christmas is not about spending lots of money to purchase material things. It is a time for us to rest and reflect and spend time with loved ones.

December 14th
This photo is taken at Greenwich park. We love going to Greenwich and visiting the market. You can buy lovely Christmas presents there that are hand made crafts. The dogs love running about in the park greeting the other dogs we come across. Today is the 14th day of December.
December 13th
These berries are amazing. I noticed a lot of berries in the trees this year. Some say that the years where there are so may berries can be long and hard. The birds will definitely appreciate these berries during the winter months that lie ahead. Today is 13th day of December.
December 12th
Today is December 12th. I love the photo of this tree! The bark is incredible. You can see all sorts of shapes and it reminds me of a person. It almost looks like an old man. maybe it could be father Christmas hiding in the woods.
December 11th
On the 11th December we can see some beautiful Christmas colours. The rich redness of these leaves reminds me of Cranberry jelly. I took this picture when G and I took the dogs for a morning walk.
10th December
Although this is the sun streaming through the sky on a beautiful winter's day it reminds me of The Christmas Star!
I love the shadows and the brightness of a winter's day. Today is the 10th day of December!

December 9th
This tree reminds me of walking on Christmas day on a clear, crisp day. The light is bright and the air is cool. This tree still has its leaves and they area beautiful, warm gold colour. Today is the 9th day of December.
8th December
On 8th day of December we have a beautiful holly cut into the shape of a Christmas tree or at least that is what I think it is. I love holly. It is a strong symbol of Christmas.
7th December
In this sky I see the orange of satsumas that are put in the bottom of Christmas Stockings.
I love the little things that are put in Christmas Stockings including chocolate coins and sugar mice!
6th December
How beautiful is this winter evening sky? I live in one of the most incredible places in the UK, in my opinion. I regularly go walking there and end up photographing the amazing sky. It looks different every day. The gold band in the sky reminds me of gold wrapping paper on extra special presents.
December 5th
This picture was taken in a park near the animal sanctuary where we got Lovely, Rufus and Bert. Teasels remind me of Christmas mainly because once in a craft fair I saw some people and animals made out of them. I think there was a hedgehog made out of a teasel wearing a little red Santa hat!
4th December
Today is 4th day of December. The light behind the clouds in this winter sky is so bright and cheerful. The clouds remind me of the cotton wool used to make snow men in Nursery school. They are so fluffy and soft looking.
3rd December
Can you believe it is the third day of December?
These twigs are covered in a really bright yellowy gold lichen that reminds me of the vibrancy of stars. Christmas is associated with stars. Many people have a star or an angel at the top of their Christmas tree.
2nd December
Today is Day 2!
We have had a reasonably mild winter so far around here and so the leaves are still on the trees. I love Oak Trees. This photo was taken on a lovely walk in the woods in November. I love the shape of oak tree leaves. Trees are a big part of Christmas with many towns putting lights in many trees, whatever the species.
1st December
Today is day 1 of Nature's Advent Calendar! I hope you love the vibrant red as much as I do. I have been out an about photographing anything that reminds me of Christmas in any way. Red is a colour that is definitely associated with Christmas. I love it!
